Madden 26 Ratings: A Shocking Snub for Patrick Mahomes?
July 31, 2025

I had to check my calendar this morning, folks. I really did. I thought maybe I’d slept through August, September, October, all the way to April 1. Because what I saw today can only be described as a joke. A practical joke of the highest order. But no, it’s July 31, and the people over at EA Sports have apparently been watching a different NFL than the rest of us for the last seven years.
The new Madden 26 ratings are starting to leak, and get this: Patrick Mahomes is rated a 95 overall.
A 95. That’s it. But wait, it gets better. He’s not the best quarterback in the game. He’s not the second-best. He’s not even the third-best. He’s the FOURTH-RATED QUARTERBACK in this year’s game. FOURTH!
Let me say that again so it sinks in. The man who redefined the quarterback position, the man with the golden arm, the no-look passes, the Super Bowl rings, the MVPs—the man who has owned this league since he stepped on the field—is considered the fourth-best player at his own position by the so-called “experts” at Madden.
A Pattern of Disrespect
This isn’t just a one-off, either. This is a pattern. As the folks over at Arrowhead Addict pointed out earlier this week, Mahomes was completely snubbed from the prestigious “99 Club.” Two other quarterbacks got the nod, but not No. 15. And it’s not just Mahomes! Travis Kelce, the man who has rewritten the record books for tight ends, is ranked as the #2 TE with a 93 overall rating. It’s a slap in the face to the entire Chiefs Kingdom, and as you can imagine, the fans are absolutely losing their minds over it on Reddit, and frankly, I don’t blame them one bit!
What are we even doing here? Did the ratings adjusters at EA take the summer off? Did they forget to pay their NFL Game Pass subscription? We’re talking about a player who has been to the AFC Championship Game every single year he has been a starter. Yes, the Chiefs lost the Super Bowl to the Eagles last season on February 9, 2025. It was a heartbreaker. But does one game erase a legacy of dominance? Does it suddenly make three other quarterbacks better than the undisputed king?
Fuel for the Fire
Look, I get it. People get tired of greatness. They want a new story. They want to prop up the next guy. But you can’t just ignore the reality of what you’re seeing on the field. Patrick Mahomes is a generational talent, a walking, talking human highlight reel who performs magic tricks with a football for a living.
You know what this is? It’s bulletin board material. That’s all it is. And if I know anything about Patrick Mahomes, it’s that he sees everything. He hears everything. And he uses it as fuel.
“I fully expect the Chiefs to win their 10th consecutive division title and end up with one of the top seeds in the AFC playoff bracket.” – CBS Sports
Even the betting experts see the Chiefs’ dominance continuing, though some hot-take artists are already predicting a fall. This Madden rating is just another log on that fire. It’s a narrative that the Chiefs’ time is coming to an end. We heard it last year, and the year before that.
So go ahead, EA Sports. Put your other quarterbacks ahead of him. Give him a 95. Keep sleeping on the most talented player to ever spin a football. He’s just going to go out there and prove you wrong all over again. Mark my words: a motivated Mahomes is the most dangerous thing in the NFL. The league is officially on notice. The “Revenge Tour” just got a new corporate sponsor, and its name is Madden.
